Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all stores operations, including goods-in, raw material warehousing, sub-contract transfers, and stock control. Ensure effective inventory management, material tracking, and waste handling in line with company processes and compliance standards.
* Manage orderly, safe, and accessible stores operations.
* Ensure accurate booking in, kitting, and works order processing.
* Collaborate with procurement to maintain adequate stock levels.
* Lead stock control initiatives to reduce waste and prevent overstocking.
* Implement and maintain accurate inventory records, stock checks, and discrepancy investigations.
* Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
* Coordinate with Quality Control on goods-in checks and returns.
* Ensure secure storage of high-value and hazardous materials.
* Supervise on-site waste disposal and documentation compliance.
* Maintain health & safety and cyber security compliance across the stores team.
* Train and manage stores staff; drive best practice and high standards.
* Work cross-functionally with factory and senior management on stock-related matters.
* Perform additional tasks as required by management.
Qualifications
* Secondary education
* Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence
* 1–3 years in a similar stores/warehouse management role
* Experience with MRP/ERP systems
* Knowledge of engineering/manufacturing environments
* Understanding of BoMs and kitting processes
* Familiarity with standards such as EN 15085-2, ISO 3834, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
* Experience in Defence, Rail, or Automotive sectors (AQAPs, MIL-STDs, RIS, IATF)
