Skilled Machinist
Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks in their day to day role:
1. Day to day running of 5 axis machine centre (Mazak & Matsuura)
2. The machining of complex aluminium and stainless fabrications
3. Aid the setting up and proving out of programs with Engineers
4. Support and manage the machine tooling to best achieve drawing tolerances
5. Carry out dimensional checks using the designated tools as defined by each program and Op sheet
6. Set up and run programs in accordance with the Op sheets and Program specifications
7. Escalate any issues, errors or concerns immediately to the Line Manager
8. Any other duties as required by your line manager
9. Support ACE and keep up excellent housekeeping practices
Education & Skills
10. Recognized engineering apprenticeship e.g. City & Guilds/ BTEC Level 3 or equivalent
11. Good level of numeracy and literacy
12. Good level of IT skills
Previous Experience
13. Setting & operating Various machine centre’s
14. Vertical 5 axis machine centres – Matsuura & Mazak would be ideal
15. Mazak Intergrex (Tilting ‘B’ Axis) experience
16. Aerospace or Oil & Gas background favourable
17. Self-Inspection
18. Various measuring/ inspection techniques
19. PC Dmis knowledge advantageous – CMM operating
20. Knowledge of machining Aluminium & Stainless fabrications
21. Understanding of adaptive machining – Renishaw probing essential
