Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a Technician – Commercial Animals within our Animal Management Centre to join our BCA College team on a Fixed Term, Term-Time Only basis (37 weeks TTO).
Responsibilities
* Work alongside curriculum and support staff to deliver practical agricultural activities and ensure the welfare of farmed livestock.
* Collaborate with the Livestock Manager and adhere to high standards of animal welfare in compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., Animal Welfare Act 2006 and Welfare of Farmed Animals Regulations 2007).
* Maintain cleanliness in work areas and assist in educational activities with students.
* Daily management of livestock, operation of machinery and vehicles, and maintaining accurate records as directed by the Livestock Manager.
* Support students in practical sessions, supervising and imparting practical skills relevant to the livestock industry.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and adhere to college policies on health and safety, equality, and safeguarding.
* Demonstrate flexibility, including potential evening and weekend duties, and uphold the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and risk management within the college.
