Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with UK legislation, ensuring vehicles meet required standards before they are driven on the road. Responsibilities
* Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
* Perform thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems.
* Accurately record test results and provide clear reports to customers regarding any necessary repairs or maintenance.
* Maintain detailed records of all inspections in compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required, utilising hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
* Uphold health and safety standards within the workshop environment, including heavy lifting procedures when handling vehicles or parts.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role.
* Mechanical knowledge with a good understanding of vehicle systems and components.
* Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, following proper safety protocols.
* Valid MOT Tester qualification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and record keeping.
