About the role:
The Shore Based Marine Engineer will organise and maintain the smooth operation and maintenance of the company’s fleet of vessels, carrying out inspections and ensuring all relevant legislation is complied with regarding vessel maintenance, preventative maintenance and state of repair.
About you:
Key skills, Experience & Competencies:
1. Previous marine engineering experience
2. Ideally Second or Chief Engineer certification or equivalent
3. Knowledge of ISM code, Merchant Shipping and Workboat Codes

Main Responsibilities (list not exhaustive)
11. Ensure all assigned vessels are maintained up to company standards and are compliant with all necessary legislation
12. Advocate a strong safety culture in line with the ISM code, Merchant Shipping and Workboat Codes and company policies
13. Conduct regular vessel inspections
14. Maintain and regularly update a vessel defect reporting system. Supervise and report repairs and vessel upgrades
15. Carry out repairs and overhauls on a range of small coded craft including Ribs and Tug vessel
16. Undertake repairs at dry dockings
17. Identify areas for improvements and modifications
18. Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory, class and other third party requirements
19. Carryout repairs and overhauls on Machinery and components including Hydraulic, main engines and generators, cranes, 24v,110v,240v and 400v electrical distribution systems
