CHP Maintenance Engineer
Responsibilities
* Travel to customer sites across the UK to carry out routine servicing and first‑response breakdowns on CHP units ranging from 30 kW to 500 kW
* Perform a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, with occasional overnight stays depending on site location
* Produce detailed site service reports, clearly identifying faults, remedial actions, and improvement opportunities
* Liaise effectively with customers, service coordinators, and the wider technical team to ensure smooth service delivery
* Provide technical support to colleagues and contribute to the wider technical support function
* Support internal and customer training activities where required
* Maintain strict health & safety standards, including completion of risk assessments and method statements
* Act as a professional brand ambassador, representing the business to a high technical and ethical standard
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CHP Service or Maintenance Engineer, or within a closely related power generation role
* Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems, including pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, ΔT, boilers, and BMS interfaces
* Solid electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems
* Experience with CHP control and monitoring platforms such as ComAp, Web Supervisor, InteliMonitor, LiteEdit, TEM / TPEM
* Comfortable working with diagnostic equipment including flue gas analysers and digital flow / temperature profiling tools
* Confident working independently in the field while maintaining strong communication with office‑based teams
* Positive, proactive mindset with strong customer‑facing skills
* Willingness to travel, cover high mileage, and stay away from home when required
* Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
* 18th Edition (IEE Wiring Regulations)
* Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience using laptop‑based engine control software
* Manufacturer training (e.g. MWM)
* Gas Safe certification
