We are seeking a proactive, confident, and solutions‑focused HR Advisor to join our clients' Shared Service. This is an exciting opportunity to provide professional HR advice and support across various sites, playing a key role in employee relations, engagement, and organisational development.
In this fast‑paced and varied role, you'll deliver expert HR guidance to managers and employees, manage a range of complex employee relations cases, and contribute to key HR and service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
As an HR Advisor, you will:
Provide high-quality HR advice on a wide range of issues including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, and dignity at work.
Conduct investigations, attend hearings, and present HR guidance based on policy, employment law, and best practice.
Manage sickness absence proactively, ensuring timely occupational health referrals and supporting managers through both informal and formal processes.
Oversee and contribute to employee engagement initiatives.
Keep the HR team updated on the progress and status of employee relations cases.
Support managers in developing robust job descriptions and lead on job evaluations in line with Agenda for Change.
Deliver training sessions to managers on HR policies, workforce topics, and people management skills.
Assist with change management processes, providing advice to managers and supporting staff through transitions.
Produce accurate reports, documentation, and HR analysis as required.
Work closely with HR & OD Business Partners on service improvement initiatives such as ESR self‑service and long-term workforce plans.
Use strong communication and negotiation skills to influence and motivate managers to address issues promptly and effectively.
Manage your own workload independently, balancing day-to-day advisory responsibilities with longer-term project work.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience of managing a wide range of employee relations cases, including complex and sensitive issues.
Understands current employment legislation and HR best practice.
Works confidently and independently, especially in time‑pressured or challenging situations.
Communicates clearly and effectively, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with managers and staff.
Is highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and work to weekly, monthly, and annual deadlines.
Is confident using HR systems and producing reports.
Is solution‑focused, proactive, and committed to driving continuous improvement.
