Job Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. Two full‑time Clinical Fellow posts in Microbiology are available for a fixed term of 12 months, starting August 2026 at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to a broad range of laboratory and clinical roles within the department, including clinical advice, laboratory oversight, report authorisation, diagnostic and antimicrobial advice and stewardship, ward consultation, teaching and training responsibilities.
* Provide clinical advice and support to medical staff and patients in microbiology services.
* Maintain and contribute to high standards of patient safety and infection control.
Qualifications
* Full registration with GMC with a licence to practice.
* Completion of a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date. If not, a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST) completed by a consultant who has worked with the applicant for at least three months whole‑time equivalent within the previous 3.5 years.
