Key Responsibilities
* Managing the daily operation of the school library, including the lending, return, and cataloguing of resources
* Curating and maintaining a diverse, high-quality collection of books, academic journals, and digital media
* Supporting students with research skills, information literacy, and advanced academic referencing
* Leading high-profile literacy events, such as World Book Day, Carnegie Medal shadowing, and author visits
* Managing the library budget, supervising students during study periods, and training student librarians
* Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and purposeful atmosphere for the whole school community
* Liaising with Department Heads to ensure that resources effectively support the GCSE and A-Level curriculum
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A degree or professional qualification in Librarianship (desirable) or significant library/information management experience
* A genuine passion for literature and a commitment to supporting the academic growth of young people
* Strong ICT skills and experience with modern Library Management Systems (LMS)
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a quiet, high-standard study environment
* The ability to engage and inspire students of all ages, from reluctant readers to high-achieving A-Level scholars
