Apprenticeships Team Leader
The Apprenticeships Team Leader at Hays Travel leads and supports Learning & Development (L&D) Coaches to ensure high-quality delivery of apprenticeship training, coaching, and learner support. This role ensures the apprenticeships provision meets business needs while aligning with the new Ofsted Further Education and Skills Inspection Toolkit used for inspections from 10 November 2025.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership, Governance & Quality Oversight
2. Lead, develop, and support L&D Coaches to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery across all apprenticeship programmes and department KPI’s through effective coaching
3. Deliver effective team meetings/progress matters reviews which are positive and productive boosting motivation and morale.
4. Manage team operations including caseload allocation, scheduling, performance management, and professional development.
5. Drive continuous improvement using evidence, data, and insights in line with Ofsted’s emphasis on evaluating systems, processes, and leadership impact.
6. Ensure compliance with ESFA and Ofsted requirements, maintaining strong governance and robust quality assurance processes.
7. Work closely with the Learning and Development Team Leader to ensure all practices run effectively through the full team.

Safeguarding, Welfare & Learner Support
9. Ensure safeguarding practice is embedded into all apprenticeship delivery activities.
10. Support L&D Coaches to confidently identify, record, and report safeguarding concerns as required under the Toolkit.
11. Promote a culture of learner safety, wellbeing, and positive professional behaviours.
12. Inclusion, Equality & Meeting Learner Needs
13. Champion inclusive practice across all programmes, ensuring apprentices with SEND or additional needs receive appropriate support.
14. Monitor participation and progression for all learner groups, addressing disparities in achievement — a key expectation under the new Toolkit.
15. Ensure L&D Coaches embed inclusive approaches into training, feedback, and coaching.
16. Curriculum, Teaching, Training & Assessment
17. Oversee the planning and scheduling of internal apprenticeship workshops, training sessions, off-the-job learning, and progress reviews.
18. Ensure all sessions are well-prepared, with appropriate resources, digital tools, and learning environments.
19. Support L&D Coaches to deliver effective training and assessment that meet curriculum intent, implementation, and impact expectations.
20. Ensure documentation and evidence reflect everyday practice.
21. Achievement, Progress & Outcomes
22. Monitor learner progress, achievement rates, and milestone completion to ensure apprentices remain on track.
23. Analyse performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvements required across the provision.
24. Lead interventions to improve timely achievement, EPA readiness, and learner progression.
25. Participation, Development & Learner Experience
26. Ensure apprentices engage fully with their programme, attend sessions, and participate in wider development activities.
27. Oversee strategies that support learners’ personal and professional development, including behaviours, skills, and workplace readiness.
28. Promote positive learner conduct, attendance, and motivation in line with Toolkit expectations.
29. Digital Learning & BUD System Oversight
30. Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of BUD, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and usability.
31. Use BUD reporting to support performance monitoring, quality assurance, and provider self-evaluation.
32. Ensure data is accessible and relevant, reflecting the Toolkit’s emphasis on proportionate, provider-produced evidence.

34. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in apprenticeships or L&D delivery, excellent organisational and leadership skills, and the ability to support the team. They will understand the expectations of the new Ofsted Further Education & Skills Inspection Toolkit and be able to lead practice that meets its evaluation area
