Senior Quantity Surveyor – Essex 📍 Location: Essex

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to lead on high-value, industrial and commercial construction projects? We’re hiring on behalf of a leading contractor delivering standout developments across the UK. Based in Essex, this role offers a great opportunity to take ownership of commercial performance and progress your career in a supportive, dynamic environment.
The Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage all commercial aspects of your assigned projects—from procurement and subcontractor management to cost forecasting and valuations. You’ll work closely with project and site teams to ensure accurate financial control, contract compliance, and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Use internal QS forms and management systems efficiently.
Maintain detailed site records, including photographs and documentation.
Coordinate with site teams to complete labour allocation sheets.
Lead project meetings, including design and client progress sessions.
Approve purchase orders and subcontractor agreements with supporting quotes.
Conduct TRM meetings with operations for subcontractor packages.
Draft and issue subcontract documentation accurately.
Measure, price, and negotiate project variations and ensure proper sign-off.
Track and manage subcontractor liabilities and monthly forecasts.
Prepare accurate cost projections (labour, plant, materials, staff).
Follow procurement schedules to ensure timely subcontract engagement.
Carry out valuations and issue payment notices in line with agreements.
Manage Collateral Warranty schedules and compliance tracking.
Deliver external client valuations and support commercial overvaluing.
Prepare monthly reports and forecasts with the wider commercial team.
Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors on site (TQS/AQS).What You’ll Need
Degree, HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
Strong communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
Proven experience delivering industrial and/or commercial construction projects.
Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.What’s On Offer
