QSHE Manager
Location: East London (Office & Site-Based across London)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + package (DOE)

A well-established and highly respected M&E contractor is seeking an experienced QSHE Manager to lead and manage Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental standards across its London and Essex operations.
With over 20 years delivering mechanical, electrical and public health installations across commercial and residential projects, this business has built a strong reputation for quality, compliance and long-term client relationships. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of company-wide QSHE systems and play a key role in supporting safe, efficient project delivery.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental (QSHE) systems across multiple live projects.
This is a hands-on role supporting both office and site operations, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, ISO standards, and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
* Develop and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001
* Implement and monitor quality control processes across projects
* Conduct internal audits and support external certification audits
* Manage non-conformances and drive corrective actions
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery
Safety & Health
* Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation including HASAWA and CDM Regulations
* Develop and review RAMS, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work
* Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits
* Lead investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses
* Promote and embed a proactive safety culture across the business
* Monitor subcontractor compliance with QSHE standards
Environmental Management
* Develop and maintain Environmental Management Systems aligned with ISO 14001
* Monitor environmental performance and sustainability initiatives
* Oversee waste management, energy use and environmental reporting
* Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and best practice
Site & Project Support
* Provide practical QSHE guidance to project managers, supervisors and engineers
* Attend site and client meetings where required
* Support safe planning and delivery of MEP works
* Maintain accurate QSHE documentation and reporting systems
* Support pre-construction activities including PQQs and tender submissions
Training & Continuous Improvement
* Deliver QSHE training, toolbox talks and awareness sessions
* Maintain competency and training records
* Monitor QSHE performance through KPIs and trend analysis
* Support ongoing development and review of QSHE policies
Client & Regulatory Liaison
* Act as the company's competent person for QSHE matters
* Liaise with clients, principal contractors and regulatory bodies
* Support external audits and site inspections
These responsibilities reflect the full QSHE scope across quality, safety, health and environmental systems expected within MEP operations.
About You
* Proven experience in a QSHE or Health & Safety Management role within M&E, construction or building services
* Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and UK QSHE legislation
* Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS and site safety documentation
* Experience working across multiple live construction sites
* Ability to influence and engage at all levels of the business
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Full UK driving licence
Essential Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
* Experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 systems
Desirable
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate
* GradIOSH or CMIOSH
* IOSH Managing Safely (Trainer status advantageous)
* Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental systems
