Job Overview

We are seeking a calm and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team in our newly opened country pub. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and service. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and a commitment to excellence within a vibrant hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation and presentation of menu items, ensuring consistency and quality standards are met.
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance and support to maintain efficient operations.
* Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Coordinate with the Head Chef on menu development, stock control, and ordering supplies as needed.
* Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
* Support team management by training new staff, scheduling shifts, and fostering a positive work environment.
* Contribute to maintaining excellent customer service by ensuring timely food delivery and addressing any issues promptly.

Requirements

* Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
* Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts.
* Extensive kitchen experience with a solid understanding of food safety standards.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
* Knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality standards, and serving procedures.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Relevant qualifications in hospitality or culinary arts are preferred but not essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
