We are offering a permanent, full-time position for a Band 6 Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) to join the Lewisham Integrated Therapies Team (LIT), based within a Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT).
The CAP will collaborate with P&P colleagues in managing interventions and resources through various contact methods, including phone, in person, and online. There will be opportunities to conduct both group and individual work.
The post is within a friendly team comprising various P&P roles such as CBT therapists, CAPs, clinical/counselling psychologists, family and psychotherapists. The wider service works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including MDT staff, community, voluntary, and social enterprise sectors. The role offers exposure to diverse therapeutic modalities, including CAT, Psychodynamic, Family & Couple Therapy, CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, and Transference Focused Therapy.
Supervision will be provided by P&P staff. The post mainly involves working within a Primary Care Mental Health Team, providing psychologically-informed interventions both in person and online, as appropriate.
The post holder will work with service users to develop a shared understanding of their complex issues, coping mechanisms, and the impact on their health and well-being. Under supervision, they will explore social, psychological, and therapeutic options to improve outcomes and achieve goals. The role includes both group and individual work and involves integrating local community resources. Attendance at and contribution to data collection and audits are required.
Service users may present with high distress and complex mental health difficulties, including high risk to themselves or others. Initial assessments and brief interventions will be conducted in person.

Key responsibilities include:
* Constructive communication with healthcare professionals across services, including nurses, AHPs, medical colleagues, and community sectors.
* Working directly with the Psychology & Psychotherapy team, reporting to a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist regarding assessments, formulation, and interventions.
* Performing clinical duties under supervision, adhering to trust policies, and supporting service users with high distress and complex needs.
