We are looking for a proactive and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing site in Preston. This is an important role within our Maintenance team, supporting the servicing, upkeep, and reliability of our production equipment and manufacturing environment.
The Person
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Technician who enjoys working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will have experience supporting planned preventative maintenance activities and maintaining machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
You will be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team. With a proactive mindset, you will take pride in supporting plant reliability and minimising downtime through effective maintenance practices.
The Role
As a Maintenance Technician based at our Preston manufacturing site, you will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. You will support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and assist with general maintenance tasks across a range of manufacturing equipment and plant machinery.
This role is offered on permanent double day shifts.
The position will involve supporting the ongoing servicing and upkeep of production equipment, ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Responsibilities
* Planned Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance activities across manufacturing equipment and machinery.
* Equipment Upkeep: Support the day-to-day reliability and performance of production equipment.
* Mechanical & Electrical Support: Assist with basic maintenance activities across plant and equipment where required.
* Inspections: Conduct routine equipment checks and identify potential maintenance issues.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
* Health & Safety: Ensure all work is completed in line with company safety standards and procedures.
* Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support operational performance.
* Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the maintenance area.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent Level 3 electrical qualification) essential.
* Completed recognised apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering (essential).
* Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Experience supporting preventative maintenance activities.
* Good understanding of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
* PC literate.
* IPAF / FLT / basic welding experience (desirable but not essential).
