About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established food manufacturing and distribution business with a strong presence across the UK. They are now looking for a commercially driven Account Manager to join their Food Service team, playing a pivotal role in growing and managing a portfolio of key accounts.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a real impact. You will be responsible for developing new business whilst nurturing and growing existing customer relationships within the food service sector.
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business development within the food service sector
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts
Coordinate sales activity to maximise revenue with both new and existing customers
Agree, review and maintain customer contracts to ensure compliance
Monitor and action credit control in line with company policy
Analyse sales figures and account data to provide meaningful commercial insight
Monitor and deliver agreed budgets in collaboration with the Commercial Controller
Continually review product margins and stay abreast of sector developments
Liaise with customer service, technical and logistics teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key personnel across the customer base
Manage all account activity including pricing, logistics, complaints, samples and reporting
Attend industry events, trade shows and other functions as required
About You
Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels
Highly organised, self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data
Committed to delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding expectations
Sound commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new opportunities
Ideally an understanding of the food service sector and knowledge of relevant product ranges
A positive, energetic personality with real determination and passion
