The post holder will be responsible for a busy maternity outpatients department based at Royal Stoke and a smaller antenatal clinic at County Hospital. The post holder will work across both sites to provide visible leadership.
A busy fetal medicine department is located within the antenatal clinic at Royal Stoke. The post holder will provide managerial support for a small team of specialist midwives and support staff within this area.
Day-care services are located within the antenatal clinic at Royal Stoke, providing a seven-day service for women and birthing people. The post holder will oversee day-care services at Royal Stoke.
We seek a highly skilled and experienced midwife who can role model, lead by example, and provide first-line managerial support.
You will be part of a well-established Outpatient Midwifery team, fully integrated with community team leaders, screening coordinators, and other specialist services.
Key Areas/Tasks
1. Manage the clinical area, including assessment of care needs, development, implementation, and evaluation of care.
2. Coordinate and manage midwifery care within the Antenatal Clinic, working in partnership with colleagues and medical staff to facilitate collaborative patient care.
3. Provide clinical leadership and develop standards to promote high-quality practice.
4. Facilitate innovative, evidence-based nursing/midwifery practice through professional leadership and support of the clinical team.
5. Act as a credible role model, encouraging and empowering staff to develop professionally and reach their full potential.
6. Evaluate clinical practice and outcomes to improve quality of care through clinical audits, research, supervision, and teaching.
7. Ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care for all women, maintaining continuity from referral to discharge within a multidisciplinary framework.
8. Ensure all care adheres to Trust policies and procedures, with accurate and contemporaneous records.
