Job Overview
We are looking for a full-time, versatile, enthusiastic, and neatly presented Motor Transport Driver, responsible for driving both PSV and LGV vehicles completing a variety of different driving tasks both internal and external to Coulport and Faslane bases. The successful candidate will be expected to work to a changeable shift pattern depending upon the demands of the customer and will have the professional capability to multi-task and react to changing circumstances.
Main Duties
1. Adhere to planned transport taskings. Complete all task and reporting paperwork in accordance with legal requirements and operating procedures. Ensure vehicles are well maintained and report any faults to the management team. Clean vehicles, ensuring all vehicles utilised by the department and establishment are maintained in a presentable condition. Maintain a pro-active approach to Health & Safety ensuring that there are no reportable accidents/incidents to yourself or others in the vicinity of your areas of responsibility that are attributable to negligence. Carry out other reasonable tasks as required. Actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law.
What we are looking for
A reliable, trustworthy, competent, and physically fit person with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 3. Full clean Driving License.
4. Category D essential, CE desirable. (Must be willing to gain this licence)
5. Driver CPC qualifications in PSV essential and Haulage desirable.
6. Understanding of and compliant with all aspects of Road Transport legislation.
7. Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
8. Possess good written and numerical skills.
9. Good geographic knowledge.
10. Capability to multi-task when and where needed, as required by the business. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Flexible approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities. Good customer facing skills and the ability to develop close working relationships. Basic IT literacy.
