About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lothian Renal Dietetic team as a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner based primarily at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The team of 5.5 full-time equivalents includes a Band 7 Advanced Dietetic Practitioner, Band 6 Specialist Dietitians, 1 rotational Band 5 Dietitian and a Dietetic Assistant (this post).
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical support and administrative duties to deliver a high-quality service to patients managed by Renal Dietitians, including kidney and transplant in‑patients, out‑patients, vascular patients, and those on dialysis across the 3 acute hospital sites in Lothian.
* Support the national kidney, pancreas and islet transplant services and patients on the dialysis unit.
* Direct patient management and support; deliver group education sessions.
* Coordinate administrative tasks as required.
* Assist with other duties to support the wider dietetic team as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Part‑time post – salary will be pro‑rata.
* Legal requirement to demonstrate relevant permission to work in the UK.
* PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult). Non‑members must apply to Disclosure Scotland and be deemed satisfactory before commencing.
* Potentially subject to a different level of criminal records check from 1 April 2025, depending on regulatory status.
