Job Description
We are seeking an Applications Support Engineer to join our Resource Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining operational services for DSX/Vision suite products and will be proactive in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
This role requires expertise in fault finding within the DSX & Vision product suite at both hardware and software levels. As this is a fast-paced environment, the candidate must be adaptable to changing priorities.

Fareham (Hampshire)
Working Pattern:
2 days (07:00 – 19:00), 2 nights (19:00 – 07:00), 4 days off. 24/7/365 shift pattern.
Purpose of the Role:
To support and maintain NEC Public Safety solutions as part of a dedicated team. The role involves incident triage, resolution, and proactive system maintenance, reporting to the MCA Communications Systems Support Engineer.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of NEC Public Safety’s DSX & Vision solutions at hardware and software levels.
* Create, review, and update engineering documentation such as work plans and technical guides.
* Coordinate with third-party providers and internal teams to facilitate activities and information exchange.
* Occasionally work from other MCA locations.
* Engage with customers professionally on both technical and non-technical issues.
* Respond to customer queries related to NEC Public Safety managed products, configurations, and performance.
* Adhere to NEC Public Safety and MCA processes and procedures.
* Complete activities within deadlines and report any difficulties in meeting SLAs or milestones.
Qualifications:
* Experience at 1st or 2nd line support level in a service desk environment.
* Experience working in shift patterns including day and night shifts, with fixed 12-hour rotations.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Windows Server up to 2016.
* Knowledge of MSSQL applications.
* Practical experience with TCP/IP network support.
* Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Visio, Word.
* Experience working with ITIL best practices.
