Organisation The Duke of York’s Royal Military School Salary DYR8.32 (£37,061 FTE), equivalent to £28,432 pro rata per annum, plus an additional £3,901 per annum for boarding duties. Location Dover, Kent Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 10 April 2026 Job Description The Head of Netball will lead the planning and delivery of a high-quality netball programme across the school, aiming to increase participation, improve competitive performance, and develop clear talent pathways from beginner to advanced levels. The role also supports the wider sports provision, contributing to additional sports and working closely with the Director of Sport and PE staff. In addition, the postholder will assist with the day-to-day running of the PE and Sports Faculty, support lesson delivery, and help lead teams and co-curricular activities for students in Years 7–13.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop the School’s netball programme, delivering engaging coaching sessions, increasing participation, and building a progressive pathway that supports both grassroots involvement and high performance.
- Identify and nurture talented players, oversee school teams, manage squad selection and performance analysis, and support students progressing to county, regional, or performance pathways.
- Coordinate competitive opportunities, including organising fixtures, tournaments, and partnerships with clubs, schools, and governing bodies.
- Contribute to the wider PE and sports provision, supporting timetabled lessons, coaching additional sports, officiating fixtures (including weekends), and promoting student wellbeing through sport.
- Support the organisation and development of the sports programme, including record keeping, risk assessments, equipment management, and departmental planning.
- Provide pastoral and boarding support, acting as a Boarding Tutor responsible for student welfare, academic monitoring, house duties, and participation in the co-curricular life of the School.
- Any reasonable requests made by their line manager or Senior Leadership Team.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working during term time only. The role requires 37 hours per week, with additional evenings and weekends as part of boarding responsibilities.
