Main duties of the job
* Deliver primary care services as part of the practice, ensuring high standards.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team of GPs, nurses, ARRS roles and non‑clinical staff.
* Make yourself available for surgery consultations, telephone consultations, clinical triage, home visits, prescription signing, paperwork, referrals and correspondence.
* Provide professional autonomous decisions for presenting problems.
* Assess health care needs of patients with undifferentiated problems.
* Communicate regularly with the practice team and attend meetings.

Job responsibilities
* Deliver full range of primary care services.
* Work with multi‑disciplinary team.
* Respond to surgery and telephone consultations, clinical triage, home visits, prescriptions, paperwork.
* Make autonomous decisions on presenting problems.
* Assess health care needs of patients with undiagnosed problems.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors.
* Develop care plans in line with protocols.
* Provide counselling and health education.
* Admit/discharge patients and refer as appropriate.
* Record clear consultation notes.
* Collect data for audit and participate in clinical audit programme.
* Issue computer‑generated prescriptions.
* Prescribe per formulary.
* Complete GP duties associated with primary care.
* Prepare care plans for local enhanced services.
* Participate in Enhanced Services, QOF, IIF and other PCN programmes.
Training and Education
* Engage in annual external appraisal and revalidation.
* Take required training for learning needs, reflection, complaints, information governance.
* Contribute to learning activities and teaching for trainees.
Other responsibilities
* Compliance with practice policies: prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health, safety.
* Commit to life‑long learning and audit.
* Contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting.
* Contribute to development of computer‑based patient records and coding.

Person Specification
* Eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS.
* Current GMS number.
* Commitment to personal and professional development.
* Experience as a GP educator/mentor.
* Experience with appraisal.
* Additional clinical skills beyond general practice.
* Experience with SystmOne and AskmyGP.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Pay
£11,000 per session. Pay rate depends on experience.
