Science Teacher – Full-Time, Long-Term
Location: Shenley, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
We are partnering with a highly regarded secondary school in Shenley, known for its academic excellence, inclusive ethos, and supportive learning environment.
The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from January 2026. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) passionate about making science engaging, accessible, and inspiring for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver dynamic and hands-on Science lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
* Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is preferred
* Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and curiosity
* Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor progress
* Contribute to curriculum development and share resources within the department
* Support students in GCSE preparation, including coursework and revision
* Encourage participation in STEM clubs, science fairs, and enrichment activities
* Engage actively in school life and foster connections with the wider school community
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; strong unqualified applicants may be considered
* Has experience teaching Science at secondary level
* Brings excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
* Adopts a creative, student-centred teaching approach
* Demonstrates strong classroom management and high expectations
* Possesses (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
