People partnering manager

Exeter
Fitzgerald
Manager

Offer description

Job Type: Full-time or part-time (minimum 30 hours per week but all working patterns considered)

Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum FTE

Location: South West England. This is a hybrid role where you’ll be mainly based from home but there’ll be regular travel across the South West for client and internal meetings.

What youll be doing: You’ll lead a small, brilliant team of People Business Partners and People Advisors, supporting them to deliver consistently high-quality work for our clients. That means developing their skills, helping them manage their workload, reviewing their work when needed, and ensuring they hit their billing targets, all whilst supporting them in the best possible way.

At the same time, you’ll also manage your own portfolio of clients. You’ll be their go-to person – someone who really gets their business and can provide strategic HR advice that helps them achieve their goals. You’ll build strong, lasting relationships with them, and you’ll spot opportunities to grow the account by showing the value we can add.

Summary

We think this is a super exciting role. Your responsibilities will be many and varied, but never boring. Here’s a brief summary of your day to day role:

* Managing, supporting, and developing a team of People Business Partners and People Advisors, including 1:1s, coaching, workload planning, and performance development.
* Helping your team deliver brilliant work by being a second pair of eyes when needed -making sure everything we share with clients is accurate, high quality and true to our values.
* Taking care of your own portfolio of clients by building trusted partnerships and delivering a mix of hands-on support and strategic, project-based work that makes a real difference.
* Nurturing strong relationships with your clients. You’ll be helping them feel supported today, whilst also spotting gaps or challenges that might be just around the corner.
* Keeping an eye on performance and billing across your team; making sure targets are met, time is well-managed, and clients are always kept in the loop.
* Collaborating with other People Partnering Managers to make sure we’re delivering a joined-up, high-quality service.
* Playing your part in welcoming new clients, which will involve contributing to proposals and getting involved in early conversations to help us make a great first impression.
* Helping us all get better every day (after all, every day is a school day). You’ll do this by sharing what you know, giving helpful feedback, and showing what ‘great’ looks like in practice.

About you:You’re CIPD Level 7 qualified (or nearly there), with recent experience in roles like HR/People Business Partner or HR/People Manager. You have some people management experience already, and you're ready to take it to the next level.

You have a commercial mindset, excellent judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities with calm confidence. You’re great at building lasting relationships and also delivering results without compromising quality.

You’re highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable reviewing others’ work. You champion constructive feedback, enjoy developing others, and bring a sense of curiosity and resilience to your work.

You’ll Also Need

* A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as needed
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence with digital tools and systems

It’s a bonus (but not essential) if you have experience working in an HR consultancy or specialist industry knowledge.

The Perks:We’re probably biased, but we think this role is exciting, interesting, fun, challenging, full of growth opportunities… we could go on. All that aside, we also offer:

* Competitive salary, circa £60k, FTE.
* 25 days holiday when you start employment with us, 27 days after 1 year service, 29 days after 2 years’ service + bank holidays.
* 4% employer pension contributions (4% minimum employee contribution).
* Medicash health cash plan insurance policy.
* Access to an employee assistance programme which includes features such as 24/7 helpline for emotional and practical support.
* Life assurance at 4 times basic salary.
* Shopping discounts platform.
* Monthly homeworking allowance with equipment provision.
* Supported career qualifications.
* Integration into a progressive, expanding business.
* Collaborative and supportive team environment.
* Social events and virtual gatherings.

How To Apply

There are a few stages in our application process which help you get to know us as much as it helps us get to know you. This includes a written assessment, a virtual interview, psychometric testing and a concluding in-person meeting.

If this sounds good, and you think Fitzgerald could be the place for you, APPLY NOW. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Closing Date: 09 July 2025

We really want our workforce to be more representative of all sections of society and so we actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr
