Lead BI Developer

This is a high impact Lead BI Developer role with clear ownership of business intelligence delivery in a consumer focused digital environment. You will shape how data is modelled, optimised and surfaced, while setting technical standards that support insight driven decision making across products and content.

They are a digital media organisation investing heavily in data as they expand across podcasting, video and next generation consumer experiences. Their analytics and BI capability sits at the heart of digital strategy, supporting product teams, content performance and audience engagement. The business is actively modernising its data stack, moving away from legacy BI platforms toward scalable, best in class solutions.
The Role
* Lead the design and delivery of end to end BI solutions within a small analytics squad.
* Build, maintain and optimise Power BI solutions, covering data modelling, DAX and semantic layers.
* Design robust data models using star schema principles and well managed relationships.
* Own performance tuning across Power BI models and reports to ensure scalability and usability.
* Partner closely with data engineering and analytics to shape high quality, reliable datasets.
* Translate business requirements into clear, maintainable BI solutions that balance usability and technical rigour.
* Ensure strong data quality through testing, validation and clear documentation.
* Contribute to the evolution of BI standards, tooling and architecture as the data platform matures.
Your Skills & Experience
* Strong commercial experience using SQL for data transformation and analytical development.
* Advanced Power BI capability, including end to end build experience from data model to final dashboard.
* Strong data modelling skills, including star schema design and relationship management.
* Deep experience with DAX, including measures and calculated columns.
* Proven experience in performance tuning and optimisation of Power BI models and reports.
* Experience working closely with data engineering and analytics teams in a product focused environment.
* Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders.
* Understanding of data visualisation and UX best practice within BI is beneficial.
