About the role
The Clinical Imaging Sciences Centre is a research and clinical imaging facility based at the University of Sussex. It currently has 2 MRI scanners, a Siemens Prisma 3T (research /clinical) and an ultra-low field MGNTQ (Multiwave) 0.05T (research).
This post is an ideal opportunity for a radiographer wishing to gain MR experience in a predominantly research environment that also supports some clinical services including memory assessment and sports injuries.
You will be part of a small team of radiographers working alongside and supporting researchers within the University of Sussex specialising in cognitive and clinical neuroscience, as well as healthcare professionals from the public and private sectors.
This role will include some weekend working according to business need.
Whilst this is a full time post we also welcome applications for part time working.
HCPC registration is essential, and employment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
About you
You will have a BSc in Radiography, DCR or other equivalent radiography qualification recognised by the College of Radiographers and you must be currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
For the Grade 6 post previous experience in MRI would be desirable, but we would also consider suitable candidates starting out in this modality.
For the grade 7 post you will have proven experience in teaching, training and supervising MR radiographers.
You will communicate clearly with service users, radiographers, line management and stakeholders. You will be able to work autonomously to manage your own workload as well as within the team and participate in problem solving. You will also be committed to personal development.
