Description
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Breedon on the Hill.

This Role Includes

* Delivery of month end / year end timetable for GB Materials, including the year-end audit
* Responsibility for the GB Materials Balance Sheet
* To ensure statutory tax and financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner
* Responsibility for ensuring the division adheres to internal control deadlines
* Line management of the central finance Management Accountants

This role is being offered on a hybrid basis, requiring 3 days at Breedon on the Hill. The remaining 2 days can be worked from home.

Key Responsibilities

* Participation in Health & Safety awareness and support across the sites
* Line manager to management accountants to support with their work and personal development
* Oversee the month end process for the central management accounting team, identifying opportunities for improvement both in terms of controls and process efficiency
* Build effective working relationships with the Finance Business Partnering teams to ensure that their needs are being met and that a high level of service support is provided
* To review balance sheet reconciliations as required and ensure reconciling items are understood, actioned and resolved quickly, thereby ensuring effective controls are in place
* Lead on the year end statutory audit by liaising with various departments across Breedon, to provide supporting evidence to the external auditors and meet the deadlines
* Supporting the management accountant team in the delivery of statutory tax & ONS submissions, ensuring submissions are complete and accurate
* Actively involved & working closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager to deliver projects to improve control processes and enhance business reporting/insight
* Be first response to technical queries from the Finance Business Partnering teams and other areas of the business
* All other duties or tasks as requested by your line manager

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

* Accountant qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) is required.
* Team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
* You must be able to demonstrate a high level of written and numerical literacy.
* Well-developed relationship management skills, including credibility & influencing skills, are required.
