As a Planner at Stepnell, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects from the tender stage right through to completion. You will be responsible for developing optimal time plans to secure new business and then ensuring these plans are effectively implemented and monitored on-site. Your expertise in planning and your ability to communicate effectively with both pre- and post-construction teams will be crucial to ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Work Winning & Tenders: Develop winning tender programmes, assess risks and opportunities, ensure compliance, and contribute to bid strategies. This includes site appraisals, resource planning, method statement development, and utilising software like PowerPoint and potentially 4D planning tools. Site & Construction Planning: Collaborate with site teams to translate tender programmes into detailed construction programmes, monitor progress, manage subcontractor plans, identify and address delays, and implement completion strategies. Liaison & Support: Educate and support teams on progress monitoring and reporting, ensuring understanding of planning risks and entitlement processes. Financial & Reporting: Work closely with Project and Contracts Managers to ensure accurate reporting of progress and potential impacts. Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on project performance, work durations, and suggest improvements to company processes. What We're Looking For: Proven experience as a Planner within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and planning software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and opportunities. Proficient in developing and presenting clear and concise programmes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. A proactive and results-oriented approach. Familiarity with relevant legislation and statutory requirements. Experience with 4D planning software (e.g., Synchro) is desirable.
