Assistant Team Manager – Mental Health
Location: Hybrid working and various locations in the city.
Employment type: Permanent, part-time (18.5 hours per week, Wed–Fri).
Salary: £26,206 to £28,365 (Grade 8).
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Team Manager to join our Mental Health service within Adult Social Care. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide leadership and operational management support to a dedicated and passionate team delivering high-quality, person-centred social work for adults and carers.

Responsibilities
* Provide direct line management, supervision, and coaching to social workers.
* Support the Team Manager in managing the team’s work in line with the Care Act 2014, the Mental Health Act 1983, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the Human Rights Act 1998, and the Waiting Well Policy.
* Champion relational, strengths-based and person-centred practice and ensure safeguarding interventions are timely and effective.
* Contribute to quality assurance, performance monitoring, and service development.
* Represent the service at meetings and deputise for the Team Manager when required.
* Work collaboratively with partners across health, housing and voluntary sectors to achieve the best outcomes for adults and carers.
Qualifications
* A Social Work England registered social worker with significant post‑qualification experience.
* An Approved Mental Health Professional, or willingness to train.
* Proven experience in mental health social work with adults, families and carers.
* Strong management and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, IT and communication skills.

Interview Process
The selection process will consist of a formal panel interview, including a presentation, which will take place W/C 8th December 2025. Interviews may involve members of our Adult Voice and Choice co‑production group.
