Role: Process Development Engineer
Location: Bristol
Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract
Pay: £55ph - £60ph DOE (Outside IR35)
We're looking for a Process Development Engineer to lead the development of a new adhesive bonding process for battery pack assemblies. This will focus on adhesive selection, equipment trials, and full process integration into manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
* Outline performance and adhesive requirements in collaboration with engineering.
* Identify, evaluate, and trial adhesives through lab-based testing.
* Specify and trial dispensing equipment suitable for production use.
* Develop and document the adhesive bonding process.
* Integrate the process into manufacturing with appropriate tooling and controls.
* Create and deliver technical reports, specifications, and training materials.
* Support risk mitigation through PFMEA and process validation activities.
Experience Required:
* Proven experience in adhesive bonding process development.
* Knowledge of adhesive types, surface preparation, and application methods.
* Familiarity with industrial dispensing equipment and process trials.
* Background in manufacturing engineering within a technical environment.
* Strong documentation and reporting skills.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with design, quality, and production teams.
* Understanding of PFMEA and process validation best practices.
