Extensive storage and load‑out capacity, along with fully equipped workshops, means the business is capable of managing a wide variety of projects efficiently and effectively.
Job Description
We are currently recruiting for experienced Platers to join a busy fabrication workshop in Hebburn. As a Plater, you will be responsible for marking out, cutting, shaping, and assembling heavy steel components, often working from detailed engineering drawings. Your work will directly contribute to large‑scale marine and industrial fabrication projects.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience as a Plater within heavy industry, ideally marine or structural
* Competent in reading and interpreting complex fabrication drawings
* Experience working with heavy‑gauge mild steel (3-50mm)
* Skilled in marking out, oxy‑fuel cutting, grinding, and fitting
* Ability to work collaboratively with welders and other trades
* Must be time‑served or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience
