Job Summary

Working in the newly formed reporting hub team the manager position will play a critical role in providing targeted performance MI, supporting the senior Performance team members in the production of monthly performance reporting through and contribution to the continuous improvement of our data quality, forecasting accuracy, and the desire to enhance and improve processes.

The team is dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, working with many different areas of the agency. You will need to be a team player who can work in a collaborative and flexible way enabling good decision making and problem solving within their team.

The role will support the design and delivery of the wider Business Planning and Performance team. There are some exciting/rewarding/creative/ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day-to-day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the performance offering.

Job Description

The role is primarily responsible for supporting the Performance Team in the provision of performance reporting, and management of the integrity of data relating to the performance of the Agency’s activity.

The data, MI, and reports prepared by the role holder is critical to allow the team to provide performance reporting to budget holders and Senior Responsible Officers (SROs), and to senior governance forums including programme boards and delivery boards.

The information provided will give a clear current and forecast performance position to facilitate decision making at programme and portfolio level, and to allow budget holders and SROs to be challenged on and take accountability for performance against the delivery targets outlined in our Annual Business Plan. This should also include an understanding of any risks and potential mitigations.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:


* Production of clear, concise, and targeted performance MI for various audiences;
* Supporting the senior Performance team members in the production of monthly performance reporting through preparation of accurate and timely management information relating to Homes England’s performance and financial data, including variance reporting and analysis;
* Working with senior performance colleagues to provide support to delivery and delivery-support teams in generating delivery plans and forecasts;
* Contribution to the continuous improvement of our data quality, forecasting accuracy, and richness of supporting narrative;
* Contribution to the continuous improvement of the Performance team and its activity including ideas on how to improve processes, efficiencies, and relationships;
* Provision of data and information to Support monthly Board meeting and quarterly Shareholder meeting reviews of Homes England's performance;
* Building and maintaining strong and effective working level relationships across the organisation, particularly with the wider COO directorate, Government Relations and Corporate Services.

Key Skills, Knowledge And Experience

In order to complete the responsibilities of this role, you will have:

* Degree level qualification or we are happy to accept demonstratable equivalent experience (E)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, including the ability to convey numerical and analytical information effectively to senior audiences, on paper and in person (E).
* Working knowledge of relevant data and reporting software and systems including Microsoft Excel, Business Objects (or equivalent report writing packages) and project management systems (E)
* Working knowledge of Power Query, Power BI and Python (D)
* Strong understanding of continuous business improvement with a keen interest in improving the use of data, inputting on process improvement activities. (E)
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and at pace. (E)
