The Role
Reporting to the NPD Manager and working alongside the Development Chef and Process Teams, you will be responsible for developing creative products and solutions for both new and existing ranges in response to customer briefs. This will involve managing projects through all the stages of the NPD process from concept to launch, encompassing creative development and commercial evaluation as well as being mindful of costings and technical requirements. You’ll also be keeping up with seasonal food trends and ensure you are taking a proactive approach with your key retail customers.
An important aspect of the role will include liaising closely with suppliers and customers, working in close partnership with them to ensure your products are developed and launched in line with brand values. You will be delivering customer presentations and taking on feedback to make product refinements to ensure the perfect product is approved.
Liaising regularly with the Process Development team, you’ll support them in factory trials to ensure products match customer approved products. You will be able to take into account key trends and market insights to develop stunning products that will stand out in your competitive category.
The Person
We are looking for a proactive, determined and organised Product Developer, ideally with a Science / Food Science degree looking for a step up. You must have gained product development experience within a chilled food manufacturing environment, understand the NPD process and have experience of working in a customer focussed role.
Curious by nature, and ready to challenge convention you will be a confident communicator with the ability to liaise dynamically with multiple teams. You will be analytical with strong problem-solving skills, always looking for new avenues to improve. A real foodie, you will inspire with your ingredients knowledge and be able to link your technical know-how with expert consumer insight.
