Civil Enforcement officers are the eyes and ears of the local community, carrying out a range of important tasks. The main duties of this post will be to carry out on and off street parking enforcement around the Sunderland City Council ward areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out on and off street parking enforcement around the Sunderland City Council ward areas.
* Liaise with members of the public and give advice on parking issues and enforcement procedures ensuring that the Council’s customer care policy is adhered to at all times.
* Issue penalty charge notices to vehicles parked in contravention of the regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Communicate with customers and provide excellent people skills.
* Handle and diffuse difficult situations.
* Become a fully accredited Civil Enforcement Officer and achieve Certificate for Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) or equivalent upon successful appointment.
* General standard of education.
* PC skills advantageous, as this role requires the use of various pieces of equipment, including CCTV.
Background Checks
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Working Hours
* Full time – Monday – Sunday, four days out of seven.
* Two tier shift pattern 7:00 am – 5:00 pm and 10:00 am – 8:00 pm.
* Contractual hours 7:00 am – 10:00 pm to cover events.
* Part time – to be discussed.
