GSL Education are excited to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Sheffield’s S2 and S3 areas, providing tailored assistance to help them access learning effectively. As a SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to learners with special educational needs, helping them build confidence, independence, and engagement in a supportive environment. Prime Responsibilities: Support pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Assist learners in understanding tasks and staying focused during activities. Adapt support strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs. Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction. Work closely with staff to implement support plans and agreed strategies. Monitor progress and share observations with relevant colleagues. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs. A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach to support. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to follow guidance and work collaboratively as part of a team. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
