About the Role
Claire at Amber Mace is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join their brand-new Children’s Learning Disabilities Residential Service in Telford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation that is committed to providing exceptional care and support to children and young people aged 3–18 with learning disabilities, complex needs, and physical or health conditions.
As Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in supporting and leading a dedicated staff team, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care and a safe, nurturing environment where every young person can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support, and motivate your team to meet the individual needs of children and young people.
Plan and manage shifts, ensuring appointments, activities, and routines are well coordinated.
Administer, order, and audit medication in line with policies and support plans.
Communicate effectively using tools such as Makaton, PECS, Smartbox, or sign language (training provided).
Promote inclusion and positive community participation for all young people.
Act as a role model, demonstrating pro-social behaviour and empathy.
Contribute to care planning, reporting, and service development.
Support the management team in upholding service values and achieving service objectives.
About You
Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Confident in leading and developing teams within a residential or similar setting.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals.
Excellent organisational and reporting skills.
Compassionate, patient, and committed to promoting the best outcomes for every child.
Full driving licence preferred but not essential.
