We are excited to advertise the new role of Service Charge Officer at Leeds Jewish Housing Association! Job purpose: Join our finance team and play a key role in ensuring the fair and accurate allocation of service charges for our residents. As a Service Charge Officer, you will manage service charge administration, financial reconciliation, and resident queries while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and efficiency, supporting LJHAs commitment to transparency and excellence. To ensure that rents and service charges are calculated in line with policy and are correctly entered into the rent system. Main duties and responsibilities: Service Charge Administration: Ensure the accurate calculation, apportionment, and reconciliation of service charges Assist with the production of the annual rent and service charge letters Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate service charge records, ensure compliance with lease agreements and tenancies, and contribute to the preparation of financial reports and tribunal cases when necessary. With the Finance Manager, aim to continuously improve the rent and service charge review process and meet best practice. Resident Query Management: Act as a first point of contact for service charge-related queries, providing clear and professional responses Financial Accuracy & Risk Management: Support the recovery of service charge costs by ensuring expenditure is correctly allocated and proactively identifying risks. Processing of service charge invoices and support the finance manager in the calculation rent and service chargeable accruals Review and management of communal utility services Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams such as Neighbourhoods, Finance, and Compliance to support service charge operations and improve resident satisfaction. Prepare for any Section 20, 22 and 30a consultations and requests. The weekly working hours are 18- we are flexible as to when these can be worked.
