We are delighted to share that we are looking for a Senior Operator to join the team at Brora Distillery, which reopened in 2021, following completion of a meticulous restoration project.
Salary of £58,977.76 including Shift allowance and a competitive benefits package consisting of pension, shares scheme and bonus!
Brora is a world-renowned distillery, its closure in 1983 has resulted in Brora single malt being one of the most desirable and sought after in the market. There has been outstanding excitement among enthusiasts about its return to production and continuing its legacy in this new age for the distillery. Producing a variety of both peated and un-peated styles of single malt and maintaining manual processes for quality critical areas, such as distillation cut-points, makes the Senior Operator position at Brora a craft-person's dream.
About the role
If successful, you will work closely with fellow Senior Operators and Engineers to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift, and contribute to reviews of ways of working including risk assessments and work instructions.
Brora offers a uniquely in-depth and immersive visitors' experience, where the operational team will often be encouraged to interact with our guests and provide insights to support our brand home hosts.
Shifts
Due to the nature of our site, and our operation runs continuously. The role holder will be required to be flexible and able to work shifts. Where required, operators could be asked to cover rotas during their rostered days off. Three periods of holidays are set within the rota throughout the year (holiday swap is possible amongst the team).
Key responsibilities include:
* Manual and automated production, recording and management reporting systems.
* Optimising production processes to improve performance.
* Coordinating and controlling all site production and process activities.
* Maintaining a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to site safety and housekeeping practices.
* Delivering against Key Performance Indicators such as Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People.
Would you be comfortable with lone-working and confident in making key business decisions independently? If so, this could be the right role for you!
About You
Are you a diverse thinking individual that acts independently and works well within a team? Having the ability to think creatively and challenge without fear of voicing your thoughts is key.
Previous manufacturing experience within a food production environment would be beneficial but not crucial. Being a fast learner and critical problem solver will set you up for success to support the journey of Brora Distillery into a sustainable and digital future.
A desire and ambition to learn and master the art of distilling is a key trait of the successful candidate. Previous knowledge of process controls and problem-solving techniques is advantageous, and strong digital literacy is required. The future is digital, and embracing the digital world is key.
