The role involves leading a UK Marine Engineering programme - Type 31 frigate build - delivering performance and continuous improvement across the shipbuilding process. You will lead and inspire teams to deliver complex packages of work safely, efficiently and to high standards.
This is a full-time role based on site at Rosyth, Fife (36 hours per week).
The role
As a Production Manager, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting Marine Engineering programmes - Type 31 frigate build. You’ll drive performance and continuous improvement across the shipbuilding process and lead teams to deliver work safely and to the highest standards.
* Leading and motivating frontline managers and operators to deliver production goals
* Chairing daily planning meetings with stakeholders to align on priorities
* Reviewing and adjusting build plans to meet delivery targets
* Managing volumetric progress across the programme
* Collaborating with subcontract managers to minimise downtime and drive efficiency
Essential Experience
* Proven knowledge of shipbuilding and outfitting methods
* Ability to interpret mechanical, pipework, and shipbuilding drawings
* Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project scheduling
* Experience using project reporting tools (e.g. SDE, CMS, IFS)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
* Time-served trade background (essential)
* ONC/HNC (preferred)
* Recognised safety training (e.g. IOSH, Working at Height, Confined Space – Gold Passport standard preferred)
* Health & Safety knowledge and practitioner certification (POWSA/POLSA)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
