Children and Young People Support Worker

In this role, you will support children and young people with their emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and feel secure in a nurturing environment where they can thrive.

Your Role

* Provide warm, consistent, and person-centred support tailored to each young person’s individual needs
* Follow care and support plans to help children and young people feel safe and understood
* Encourage independence, positive relationships, and engagement in education and activities
* Support young people through emotional and behavioural challenges with patience, empathy, and understanding
* Maintain clear and accurate records to ensure continuity of care
* Always promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
* Reassure young people by providing a stable, caring, and secure environment
* Support with transport to school, appointments, family contact, and activities
* Work closely with families, colleagues, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes

About You

* At least 6-12 months’ paid experience supporting children and young people aged 0-17 in the UK
* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this
* A genuine passion for caring for and supporting children and young people
* A calm, patient, and reliable approach, especially during challenging situations
* Strong communication skills and a positive, solution-focused mindset
* Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
* A full UK driving licence (preferred)
* Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult workforce); update service preferred
