Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Team, South Essex (Full time)
Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week
Salary: £37,185 to £50,081 per annum
Location: Basildon

The Role of Supervising Social Worker within Fostering
* Support, monitor, and develop local authority foster carers in line with the 2011 National Minimum Standards for Fostering and Fostering Service regulations to safeguard children in care.
* Co-lead training events for foster carers and undertake assessments when circumstances change. Good report writing skills are required.
* Support foster carers through home visits, reviews, complaints procedures, and child protection procedures.
* Participate in the matching process for children and foster carers, ensuring appropriate placements and support.
* Ensure foster carers receive all necessary documentation and maintain good records.
* Work with foster carers to facilitate contact and ensure children’s voices are heard in reviews and planning.
Experience Required
* Recognised social work qualification (Diploma, degree, or master's) and current registration with Social Work England.
* Continuing professional development and understanding of relevant legislation, especially related to Homelessness.
* Experience chairing meetings involving clients, families, and multi-agency professionals.
* Ability to develop partnerships, deliver value-for-money interventions, and make clear decisions to manage risks.
The role requires mobility across Essex and possibly beyond, including transporting service users. A driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
