RM Recruit is working in partnership with our Walsall based housing organisation to recruit a Building Safety Officer to join their Asset Management team for a period of 3 months with the view to become permanent. The Building Safety Officer will support the organisation in meeting its statutory and regulatory responsibilities relating to building safety, particularly in relation to higher-risk residential buildings. Working closely with the Building Safety Manager and wider compliance teams, the role will focus on fire safety compliance, risk management, contractor oversight, and resident safety engagement. Main duties include: * Assist in maintaining and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Building Safety Case documentation. * Ensure fire safety actions and recommendations are tracked and completed within required timescales. * Use internal IT systems to raise work orders, monitor compliance activity, and maintain accurate safety records. * Support the management of building safety compliance programmes, including fire safety, asbestos management, and water safety. * Monitor and oversee remedial works, including compartmentation, fire doors, alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke control systems, and related fire safety measures. * Track statutory servicing and inspection programmes such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and dry risers. * Ensure building safety information is maintained in line w...
