About The Role: Job Title - Scottish Courts – Security Team Leader Hours - Monday–Friday, 08:00–20:00 Additional Requirements - Custody courts on public holidays and occasional weekend coverage Location: EH1 1LB Role Overview The Security Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a safe, secure, and well‑managed environment within Scottish Courts. This role provides day‑to‑day supervision of security officers, ensures compliance with court security protocols, and manages CCTV operations to support incident response and overall situational awareness. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership: Lead, manage, and support the onsite security team. Coordinate daily duties, rotas, and task allocations. Provide training, guidance, and performance oversight for staff. Security Operations: Monitor and operate CCTV systems in line with regulatory and data‑handling standards. Ensure all entry control, screening, and search procedures are carried out correctly. Respond to incidents, escalate appropriately, and complete incident reports. Courtroom & Public Area Safety Maintain a visible security presence across court buildings. Support court operations, including custody courts during public holidays. Compliance & Reporting Ensure adherence to Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) security protocols. Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports, and CCTV audit checks. Liaise with law enforcement, court officials, and other stakeholders as needed. Essential Experience & Skills Proven supervisory experience within a security environment. CCTV monitoring and control room experience, including incident recording. Strong communication and conflict‑management skills. Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure. SIA licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor) PLUS CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) preferred. Additional Requirements Flexibility to work public holidays to support custody courts. Willingness to cover occasional weekend duties depending on operational need. Ability to obtain and maintain vetting clearance appropriate for court environments.
