Offer description

We are seeking an experienced Independent Prescriber with a background in the substance misuse field to join our team at Shrublands House.

In this role, you will independently prescribe medication, including controlled drugs, for service users in accordance with organisational policies, best practice guidelines, the latest evidence base, and within your scope of practice.

You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing ongoing management and evaluation of treatment interventions for individuals with alcohol and drug dependency issues. The role includes regular duty prescribing cover and providing support in prescribing and reviewing community alcohol detoxification programmes.

Main duties of the job

* Specialist prescribing of controlled drugs to a high-risk cohort of individuals who may be using illicit drugs and medications daily.
* Provide assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management and evaluation of treatment interventions for service users with alcohol and drug dependency issues.
* Independently prescribe medication, including controlled drugs, for service users in line with policy, best practice, the evidence base, and within scope of practice, ensuring cost effectiveness.
