Job overview

This is a fixed term post ending on 31/3/25 to cover Maternity leave.

The post holder will provide high quality nursing care working within a cohesive multidisciplinary team.

The expectations within this job description will be met through leadership, hands on clinical practice, education and training, and research.

Working for our organisation

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life. We cover some of the most prosperous postcodes in the country, as well as some poorer areas. Person specification

Education and qualification

* Registered Nurse with NMC Registration Post-registration education Evidence of other courses and training appropriate to specialty

Experience

* Recent clinical nursing experience Negotiating and liaising within a multi- disciplinary team Supporting students and other learners e.g. HCAs teaching others in the practice environment Experience of undertaking general assessment by utilising evidence based care. Previous experience in the Nursing process, care planning and fluent in record keeping
* Experience of training students Participation in audit; research projects; service development

Skills and Knowledge

* Ability to listen effectively and ability to give constructive feedback to clients and colleagues Time management skills Able to demonstrate reasonable response to service user needs and prioritising and dealing with those needs with a required urgency. Knowledge of evidence based practice
* Knowledge of infection control Knowledge of current clinical and professional issues Understanding of Clinical Audit & Clinical Governance
