The Role
The Associate Director role is a senior part of our team, with day-to-day responsibility for leading our client engagements and business development activity. The role offers progression to Director subject to building an appropriate business case.
1. Leading the delivery of client engagements on a day-to-day basis;
2. Building enduring client relationships including post engagement;
3. Providing robust financial and commercial advice on financial aspects of a project;
4. Managing input from internal teams and external project advisers;
5. Identifying client needs and introducing new ideas and propositions to meet these needs;
6. Producing and overseeing development of high quality documentation and presentations;
7. Leading business development and owning a proposition;
8. Leading proposals and pitch development for new business;
9. Building sector specific market intelligence, thought leadership and insight;
10. Leveraging industry expertise and network to create opportunities;
11. Managing engagement risk, compliance and following procedures;
12. Performance management, coaching and mentoring of junior team members; and
13. Any other duties commensurate with the senior nature of the role.
The Person
The person will:
14. Be assured and experienced in a client and market facing role;
15. Have significant experience in public private partnerships, joint venture models, project finance and / or structured finance models from working with private and/or public sector clients, with a deep working knowledge of financing structures and commercial considerations;
16. Have in-depth knowledge and good working experience in at least two of the following areas:Strategic advice to public sector bodies (including local authorities, central government and / or universities) on their development and / or capital plans.Local authority development and investment partnerships.Alternate housing classes, such as extra care housing or student accommodation.Complex, multi-phase mixed-use development schemes;
17. Have a strong network and brand within the sector;
18. Have demonstrable experience of opening up and converting opportunities;
19. Identify and pursue new business opportunities including proposal development, bid writing, and stakeholder targeting;
20. Build and maintain relationships with key clients, investors, and other advisors;
21. Collaborate with other KPMG teams to grow the firm’s market presence;
22. Be comfortable and/or experienced in presenting to a variety of stakeholders;
23. Be an independent thinker with the ability to identify and solve problems;
24. Have strong experience of financial modelling and ability to effectively interpret outcomes;
25. Have strong report and business case writing skills and be conversant in Microsoft office; and
26. Have a go get attitude and a will to succeed.
