A highly successful and growing food manufacturing business supplying major UK retailers is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join its engineering team. Operating within a fast‑paced production environment, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime and continuous improvement across the site. Working on a 4 on 4 off day shift pattern, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑invested manufacturing operation where engineering is viewed as a core driver of operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packaging equipment
* Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across manufacturing machinery
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
* Work closely with production teams to maintain high operational performance
* Ensure all engineering work complies with food safety and health & safety standards
* Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS system
About You
We are looking for an engineer with experience within fast‑paced manufacturing environments, ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG.
Experience required
* Strong electrical fault finding skills
* Multi‑skilled engineering capability (electrical & mechanical)
* Experience within manufacturing / FMCG / food production environments
* Understanding of preventative maintenance systems
* Engineering qualification (NVQ / HNC / HND or equivalent preferred)
