Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Vehicle Technician to join our small team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent position due to upcoming staff changes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who can work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard Complete MOT testing and/or taxi inspections (where qualified) Accurately complete written inspection sheets and documentation Communicate effectively with customers and team members Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within allocated timeframes
Requirements:
Relevant qualification: Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance
Previous experience in MOT testing and/or taxi inspections is preferred Strong customer service skills with clear communication ability Competent in completing written reports and inspection sheets Reliable with excellent timekeeping and punctuality Ability to work independently and use initiative within a small team Experience with plant equipment is highly desirable (but not essential)
Working Hours:
Minimum: 3 days per week (8 hours per day) Maximum: 5 days per week (up to 39 hours) Monday to Thursday: 07:45 – 16:15 Friday: 7-hour working day 30-minute unpaid lunch break No bank holiday working
Contract Type:
Temporary initially, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role
