Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Fleetwood to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a school environment. While experience as a Teaching Assistant is valued, we also encourage applications from individuals with backgrounds in youth work, residential care, support work, or similar child-focused roles.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs
* Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies
* Support the class teacher with behaviour management and engagement
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
* Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or additional needs
* Is calm, patient and resilient, with a positive approach to behaviour
* Can work effectively as part of a school team
* Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
Relevant experience may include:
* Teaching Assistant roles
* Youth work
* Residential care
* Support work (children or young people)
* Mental health or behavioural support roles
