Description: As an R&D Tax Specialist, you will manage and deliver R&D tax credit claims for diverse clients, working closely with business owners, finance teams, and technical experts to identify qualifying activities, manage claims, and ensure HMRC compliance. Your role involves technical advisory and tax compliance work, adding value through efficient claim strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify qualifying R&D projects and expenditures through client discussions.
* Assess projects technically in line with HMRC guidelines and prepare supporting documentation.
* Draft technical reports to support R&D claims according to HMRC’s BEIS guidelines.
* Engage with clients' technical staff to understand projects and review claims per HMRC guidelines.
* Stay updated on industry and legislative changes relevant to R&D tax relief.
* Maintain contact with prospects and convert them into clients.
* Provide regular updates on claims progress to Directors.
* Network internally to promote R&D Tax Box.
* Support marketing activities by writing articles, case studies, and assisting at events, social media, and website updates.
Key Requirements:
* Technical knowledge of R&D tax relief, with experience in a specialist R&D firm or accountancy practice.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong client relationships.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to interact with technical professionals and summarize information clearly.
* Good knowledge of UK Corporate Tax legislation and its interaction with R&D claims.
Additional Requirements: The role is client-facing, requiring structured meetings with senior technical staff and high-quality technical report writing.
